How's this for a #TBT?
We often take for granted these days the fact that so much of our lives is recorded and documented. Decades from now we'll be able to look back on years of photos and videos, and be able to reminisce; but people who lived before the era of film, while very old, might not have that luxury.
That's what 102 year-old Alice Barker thought, until very recently. Alice used to dance during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930s and 40s, in chorus lines for the likes of Gene Kelly, Bill Robinson and Frank Sinatra. She had never seen any footage of herself dancing, until Tenfresh surprised her with some "Soundies" recovered from Jazz On Film.
The way Alice's face lights up as she remembers the dancing days of almost eight decades ago is enough to give anybody the warm and fuzzies. Watch it below and listen to her stories about her lifelong passion for dance, we guarantee it'll make your Thursday.
