The official "Princess of Dark Pop", real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, hails from New Zealand, gaining huge acclaim for her debut masterpiece "Pure Heroine" back in 2013.
The album reached number 3 in the US Billboard chart thanks to the huge success of single "Royals". Since then, she has appeared on the "Hunger Games" soundtrack, won two Grammy awards and paid a rather beautiful tribute to her friend David Bowie at the Brit Awards. Oh, and she had the greatest honour any celeb can get - being portrayed by Randy Marsh in South Park.
Fun fact: After the success of single "Tennis Court", Lorde was invited to join the New Zealand national tennis team, but declined as she's actually more of a badminton kinda girl.
