Who...thought of this?

If there was a phrase that dominated 2017, it had to be "fake news". Anything that the President of The United States didn't like became "fake news". Yes, it has been an exhausting 12 months

Considering how loaded the term "fake news" has become, you'd think that the last thing a brand would do is slap that phrase on some jeans and call it fashion. But, here we are.

Topshop has started selling "Fake News" jeans and they truly have to be seen to be believed.

The trousers are listed on the Topshop website as "Moto 'Fake News' Slogan Straight Leg Jeans." They retail for $90 USD and £46 on the UK site.

Topshop has been in and out of the news in recent months for bold denim moments like the iconic clear knee mom jean.

Some people decided that the "Fake News" jeans were a hard "no".

While others started imagining what a whole outfit of weird stuff from 2017 would include.

It's hard to picture who the constituency for these trousers would be, other than lovers of ironic fashion. Still, if you have $90 to spare on a pair of novelty trousers, who am I to tell you how to dress. Then there is the possibility that Rihanna might wear these and make them fashion.

Tell us what you think. Would you rock these "Fake News" jeans or give them a pass?
