Bella has come forward about the sexual abuse she experienced as a child and it's so incredible brave.

WARNING: Some details in Bella's story are very distressing. Please be aware.

Back in December, Bella Thorne shared a very brief message with her fans in relation to the #MeToo campaign that swept across social media. After posting a flawless picture of herself in a suit on Twitter, Bella received her usual (and tbqh, unfair) backlash. In a reply to her picture, someone tweeted "What did Disney do to this girl? I think she was molested." Bella then replied to the tweet saying "Yeah I was. So it wasn't Disney."

She didn't reveal any more details. After reading her response, fans flocked to her account to send her messages of support. She followed up the her initial tweet with another comment about the situation:

And now, almost one month later, Bella has found the courage to bravely share her story with her followers on Instagram, in the hopes that it could help thousands of other people in the same situation. Inspired by the incredibly empowering Time's Up movement that took over the Golden Globes last night (Jan 7), Bella detailed her experience with sexual abuse in a post.

(Please be aware, Bella's story contains distressing details.)

The caption reads: "I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14..when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren't as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated. #timesup"

She also shared a further heartbreaking comment about her abuse on Twitter. Fans immediately took to the comment sections of both her social platforms to send her overwhelming messages of support, some thanking her for reminding others going through the same thing that they are not alone.

WE LOVE YOU, BELLA!
