DC announced the brand new 'adult' show earlier this week, with an expected 2018 release date.

Fans of Suicide Squad rejoice - Harley is coming back big time!

In addition to the upcoming sequel to the supervillain movie, as well the other side projects in development like Gotham City Sirens and the standalone Harley and Joker movie, DC and Warner Bros are now launching a Harley Quinn TV show.

The 26-episode adult animated series will exclusively air on DC’s upcoming digital streaming service and will be led by the Powerless creative team of Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey. According to DC, the show will "focus on a Quinn who’s broken things off with the Joker and is attempting to find success in the Gotham City underworld on her own, alongside her friend Poison Ivy and a whole cast of heroes and villains".

Plus, actress Margot Robbie is said to have been approached by Warner Bros for the role and, given how closely she is now associated with the character, it seems pretty likely that she will sign on in the near future.

This is the latest super cartoon to get us hyped this year after Donald Glover was revealed to be developing a Deadpool adaptation for FX. What a time to be alive.

No exact release date for either show is yet known but both are expected to arrive at some point in 2018.
