Be honest. You love trash entertainment. You love a good reality show and can't help but marathon binge shows like 90210 . And, as long as we're on the truth train, you know that also definitely applies to film. You might consider your trash choices a major guilty pleasure, but science just revealed that loving low brow entertainment might actually be a sign of above average intelligence.
A new study (the first of its kind) from The Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics (whoa) surmises that trash entertainment fans are "an audience with above-average education, which one could describe as 'cultural omnivores'". You hear that folks? If you're someone who embraces a vast array of trash, that probably means your genius brain has the intellectual capacity to enjoy a variety of styles and genres. Go on, then, you cultural omnivore!
While your friends are clamoring to see the latest critically acclaimed thinking man's flick, you can rest easy in your love of all things blood, gore, cheese, and cringe.
