I honestly can't cope with this ship name. Who let this happen?

Let's face facts, the best part of Riverdale is the shipping. Sure, the murder and the mystery is great but it's the intricate relationships between each of our favourite characters that really gets us hooked. There's Bughead, there's Varchie... there's also Barchie and there's also Beronica. There was Cherie that one time. There's Choni (hopefully)...

But hold the phone, friends because a new Riverdale ship has entered the harbour and as soon as it sets sails, it's honestly over for you bitches.

Yes, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter yesterday to tease the upcoming episode of the show and casually confirmed that the romantic relationship between Alice Cooper and FP Jones is in fact "canon." It's real. It's happening. Original Bughead is coming for your faves and no one is safe.

SHOOK! A SHIP TO END ALL SHIPS! WE STAN!

As of 2x13, Alice and FP are the only parents who haven't yet had affair with another parent. You've got Hal out here with Penelope Blossom, Sheriff Keller and Mayor McCoy meeting in motels in the dead of night and of course, Fred and Hermione.

But ever since their first interaction in episode 10 of season 1, the Falice ship has been *rising* thanks to Mädchen Amick's and Skeet Ulrich's undeniable chemistry and literally mesmerising scenes together. And as soon as RAS confirmed that we would indeed be going there, the fandom exploded. (Side note: this ship name is ridiculous, who let this happen? Turn on your location, I just wanna talk...)

So, what does this mean for Bughead?

Naturally, Bughead fans are sweating over the fact that Jug's dad and Betty's mum have hooked up/will inevitably hook up again but does that make it incestuous? Nope. Does make it a little weird? Yeeeeup. And it'll get even weirder if it's revealed that Chic is part of the equation too. Betty and Jug sharing a brother? Awks. But that still doesn't make it incest.

Listen, the exact same thing happened on Gossip Girl with Lily and Rufus and even though it was toooootally weird because they got married (FP and Alice aren't gonna get married, calm down), Dan and Serena turned out fine in the end. There's hope for Bughead yet.

Now then, who wants to place a bet on how long it takes for Jughead's mum to arrive back in town with Jellybean looking to reconcile her marriage and ruin the Falice party?
