Start your engines and let the sleuthing on All Stars season 3, begin!
Yaaaassss queen! The latest season of Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars is nearly upon us and we're just *gagging* to watch some sickening queens battle it out to snatch the coveted crown. VH1 have confirmed that the show will return for it's third season on January 25th.
Details about the show have been locked inside Ru's wig closet, which is reportedly guarded by an army of fabulous queens 24/7, but we've sleuthed round the internet to see what crumbs of information we can pick up about the latest season and hunty you're in for a treat. Now make sure you untuck while the good sis talks you through the tea...
The cast for All Stars 3 was announced in October, with the exception of one queen who will presumably remain a secret until the show finally airs for maximum #drama. The confirmed queens are:
-Morgan McMichaels (previously season 2)
-Ben Delacreme (S6)
-Trixie Mattel (S7)
-Kennedy Davenport (S7)
-Thorgy Thor (S8)
-Chi Chi Devayne (S8)
The most popular rumour at the moment is that it's winner of season one Bebe Zahara Benet. This was mostly based on a comment by a since-deleted user on a Reddit thread. Could it be someone from inside the show trying to give us clues? Well you can't trust these shady bitches on Reddit as far as you can throw a wig, so probably.
Another popular theory is Darienne Lake from season 6, as she was allegedly spotted at the taping of the first episode which apparently featured a live studio audience. If true, the producers have clearly put too much faith in people signing non-disclosure agreements and sticking to them.
Adore Delano is another name making the rounds. After dropping out of All Stars 2 (she has since admitted she was going through personal troubles while filming), many feel like she deserves a third shot at the crown. During the reunion of that season, Ru asked Adore if she would be up for AS3 and she said yes. That door is clearly open to Adore but considering she's busy with a new album (and can probably wait some more time to cash in that All Stars check), we reckon it's unlikely to be her this time.
Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Nina Bo'Nina Brown have also been mentioned but we're putting our money on Bebe for the time being.
VH1 ruvealed that the show will premiere on Jan 25th with a special 90-minute episode at 8 p.m. ET.
VH1, who will be broadcasting All Stars, have not released any scheduling information at present. However, when VH1 ran RuPaul's Drag Race season 9 in March earlier this year, those episodes went out at 8/7c (that's 8pm Eastern Time for ya'll non-American folks), so you can expect it will be at a similar time.
For the first time ever, the last season of RuPaul's Drag Race went out at the same time on Netflix in the UK as it did on VH1 in the US. There has been no official confirmation yet from Netflix or Drag Race on whether All Stars will do the same thing yet but fingers crossed they'll come to their senses and announce it soon.
Trixie Mattel and Shangela are both considered to be very strong contenders, as they've both grown huge fanbases since originally appearing on Drag Race, so as long as they 'don't fuck it up' they are definitely in with a shot but there are currently no strong rumours or leaks from the show about potential winners. In fact, a lot of people have commented that the season is lacking in big hitters like the previous All Stars line up. That might be true but we think there is enough talent in the group to make a brilliant season.
