Pregnant Gigi Hadid shows off her belly bump on Instagram Live

Gigi also told fans why she has decided to keep her pregnancy off social media but assured them she'll share her journey at some point.

Two months after sharing the happy news that she and boyfriend Zayn Malik were expecting their first baby, Gigi Hadid has shared a little glimpse into her pregnancy journey with her fans on Instagram.

Back in May, Gigi confirmed her pregnancy in an adorable interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, after fans on social media clocked that her birthday party was also a baby shower.

Since then, she's kept a pretty low profile. During quarantine, she's been staying at her family's ranch in Pennsylvania with Zayn, her sister Bella and her mother Yolanda. She also hasn't really shared that much pregnancy stuff on Instagram either – and there's a reason for that, as she explains in her Instagram live.

After asking fans for questions about the journal, Gigi soon realised that all people wanted to know was how her pregnancy was going. Speaking about why she hasn't shared much of her journey online, Gigi said that she didn't think it was that important in light of the things happening in the world right now.

"I am so grateful for the positive comments and the questions and wanting to know that we're all good and safe. And everything's going great, and I love you guys. I do appreciate those positive comments," she said in the live.

"I think a lot of people are confused as to why I'm not sharing but like, I'm pregnant through a pandemic. Obviously my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world."

She continued: "That's a reason that I felt that it's not really something that I need to share, apart from with my family and friends. Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus, that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM [Black Lives Matter] movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that."

For those itching to see more of Gigi and Zayn's journey to parenthood, there's some good news. Gigi assured fans that she will be sharing pictures in the future.

"I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family and it's been really cute and exciting and I'm trying to document it well," she said. "I will be sharing stuff like that in the future, I'm just not rushed to do it and I feel like right now I just want to experience it."

"I just don't wanna worry about waking up everyday during my pregnancy and worry about having to look cute or post something."

That being said, she did share a glimpse at her growing baby bump during the live.

Over the past few months, Gigi has used her platform to share resources and support the Black Lives Matter movement. She's also spent quarantine working on volume 2 of her V Magazine 'Gigi Journal', which will amplify Black-American voices.

A percentage of the proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter, NAACP, ACLU and Campaign Zero. Gigi has also pledged to match what is raised from sold copies of the book.
