Listen to "Candy" from The Singles, the new "super-pop" super-duo we never knew we needed.

When Scarlett Johansson sings, angels burst from my shrivelled little heart. Even when she was nought but a computer programme, singing along to Joaquin Phoenix's ukulele strumming in Her, it sparked some complicated feelings.

So when we learned that she had teamed up with HAIM sister Este to form a new band, we had to go lie down for about a million years.

ScarJo has joined Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan to form The Singles, with Este clocking studio time on drums for new track "Candy". Scarlett admits that "the idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls." Boy, can we get behind that.

"I love Grimes. And I love the Bangles. And I love the Go-Go's. I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke."

"Candy", released on Soundcloud by Federal Prism, is all of the ultra-dance-pop funtimes you could ask for. You can hear all her mentioned influences throughout the new track, with a little bit of HAIM flair thrown in for good measure. Give it a listen, you won't regret it.

And now, back to that lie-down. See you in a million.
