We spoke to the cast of Netflix's Sex Education to see how rebellious they were at school, and if it matched up with their characters from the series.

Netflix really stepped up it's teen content in 2018. After the rom-com film frenzy in the summer including To All The Boys I've Loved Before and The Kissing Booth, as well as teen shows like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and On My Block, 2019 looks set to be no different thanks to their latest new series, Sex Education.

Starring Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, and a whole cast of newbies who are certain to be your new faves, the show follows Otis (played by Asa) whose mum is a sex therapist (Gillian). Otis is a virgin who's afraid to masturbate but thanks to knowledge he's learned secondhand from his mother, and the canny business acumen of his classmate Maeve (Emma Mackey), they starts up their own sex therapy business at their school Moordale High.

Netflix's Sex Education: Meet The Cast

As you can probably imagine, the show does not hold back on the sex (there's a sex scene within the first 30 seconds and a hilarious storyline involving viagra and giant penis in the first episode) and is probably the rudest Netflix show to date.

But we were more curious about what the cast were like at school. Were they as naughty as their characters? We sat down with Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Aimee Lou Wood & Connor Swindells to discuss what they really got up to at school. Sex Education is out Jan 10 on Netflix.
