We are firmly into end-of-year season right now, and Facebook is the latest internet giant to churn out a list of its most popular topics in 2014.
This year's Facebook countdown is pretty interesting, although it will come as no be big surprise to all you heavy social addicts out there that Frozen and Beyoncé were the two hot talking points. Oh, and Ebola.
Check out the lists below to see how your faves ranked, and for some surprises that you might have forgotten even happened this year.
Most Talked-About Movies in the U.S.
Some of our favourite movies of this year made the top ten, as well as some that just seem impossible to escape from - like a certain Disney movie sitting comfortably in the top spot.

- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Maleficent
- The Lego Movie
- The Fault in Our Stars
- Transformers: Age of Extinction
- Gone Girl

Most Talked-About TV Shows in the U.S.
2014 saw a huge fourth season for Game Of Thrones, excitement for more from Netflix smash hit Orange Is The New Black, and THAT ending to How I Met Your Mother - all talking points that gave them spots on the list.

- Nicki Minaj
- Taylor Swift
- Jimmy Fallon
- Iggy Azalea
- Katy Perry
- Pitbull
- John Legend
- Kim Kardashian
Most Talked-About Topics in the U.S.

- Ice Bucket Challenge
- Robin Williams
- Super Bowl
- Michael Brown/Ferguson
- World Cup
- Israel-Gaza conflict
- U.S. midterm elections
- Malaysia Airlines
- ISIS
Most Checked-Into Places in the U.S.
Theme parks dominated the list of places checked-into this year, And who can blame us? You want EVERYONE to know when you're at the Happiest Place On Earth, and less likely to share when you're out buying a Subway (though those people exist. We see you, and we judge you).
- Disney parks including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Epcot, Disney’s California Adventure and Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Universal Studios Hollywood
- Times Square
- Yosemite National Park
- Grand Canyon National Park
- Yellowstone National Park
- Yankee Stadium
- Las Vegas Strip
- Hollywood Walk of Fame
- Madison Square Garden
Top Global Topics of 2014
You will always remember 2014 as the year that the world was united in football, ebola and pouring buckets of iced water over themselves, if this list of the most-discussed global topics of the year is anything to go by.
- World Cup
- Ebola virus outbreak
- Elections in Brazil
- Robin Williams
- Ice Bucket Challenge
- Gaza Conflict
- Malaysia Airlines
- Super Bowl
- Michael Brown/Ferguson

Facebook currently has approximately 1.35billion users worldwide, and this data was compiled from Facebook posts between January and December 2014.
Let's just hope no more huge news or movies happen between now and the end of the year to mess up the stats. Though Frozen's probably safe at the top.
