Fall Out Boy - American Beauty/American Psycho

"Save Rock And Roll" got an epic 11-part video saga. Does the band have the same plan for "American Beauty/American Psycho"?

Pop punk heroes Fall Out Boy utterly spoiled their deprived fans last year, when they returned from a three-year hiatus with new album Save Rock And Roll. Every single track from the album got its own music video, which eventually all linked together into a huge 11-part film titled The Young Blood Chronicles. It featured terrifying stuff like kidnap, blood, guts, zombies, and Elton John.

And the band seemingly aren't done. The video for "American Beauty/American Psycho", the title track of their new upcoming album, debuted online last night.

The video's a pretty dark contrast to the preppy insanity of the song; the kid from the poignant cover art gets a sympathetic pounding, as a ballerina dance-fights her way out of a menacing Fight Club-style ring.

It's already too late to assume that all the videos to come from American Beauty/American Psycho will be connected - the video for "Centuries" has been out for almost two months and is wildly different to this one, with all the band starring as gladiators in ancient Rome.

But you have to admit, turning the cover art kid into an actual character is interesting, and not very common. Is it possible that there's more to come for him?

The video also ends in a way that sounds like it's leading into another track (which some fans incorrectly speculate sounds like "Centuries"). It's still possible that the latest video could earn itself at least a sequel with another video for an unreleased track.

We'll keep holding on to hope. Meanwhile, if you have a spare 50 mins to watch 11 FOB music videos in a row (of course you do), check out The Young Blood Chronicles in full.
