Our first look at "AMY" reveals an amazing insight into the singer's writing process.
AMY won't be in cinemas until July 3rd, but Altitude Film have given us a minute-long sneak peek of what to expect from the controversial Amy Winehouse documentary.
In the short clip, we hear from Amy's manager Nick Schmansky as he tells the story of one of their earlier recording sessions.
"We'd recorded quite a few demo recordings, and I started to talk about whether she'd ever consider writing," Schmansky explains. "She said she's not sure about writing songs, but she's written a lot of poems".
You can find out how that ties into her eventual songwriting process in the clip below.
This clip appears after just last week, Amy's surviving family removed their association from the film. The doc is still on schedule for release and, aside from the first trailer, this is our first look at the film. It's much less than what we've seen from similar upcoming Kurt Cobain documentary Montage Of Heck, for which some new nugget seems to pop up every couple of days.
AMY will be out in selected cinemas from July 3rd, and we're excited to see the full thing.
