Hear Macklemore Get Seriously Funky On His New Song, "Downtown"

Welcome back, Mack.
For those who were patiently waiting for the triumphant return Macklemore, "Downtown" should be a welcomed surprise. The famous duo of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have collaborated on something completely outside their remit that, sonically, could be the most interesting thing out in months.
The duo put out a slightly underwhelming (sorry) collaboration with Ed Sheeran prior to "Downtown" but their newest is a massive step up from "Growing Up".
Mark Ronson vibes are inevitable thanks to the absolute ubiquity of "Uptown Funk" but the cowbell and insistent piano riff throughout likely distinguishes "Downtown" just enough to keep those lawsuits at bay. No doubt the most dynamic section of the song is the chorus which leans so far away from Macklemore's verses that it could literally be in a different song.
"Downtown" features Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, and Eric Nally and is all over the place genre-wise and flow wise. "Downtown" was directed by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Jason Koenig and is as interesting visually as it is sonically.
