Excuse us while we just boogie in our chairs.

Hurts have had a bit of an upheaval, ditching the moody darkness of their last album and replacing it with joy (kinda).

Their lead single "Some Kind Of Heaven" was a euphoric galloping song and now the band have returned with the latest teaser track from their upcoming third album Surrender

Sharing the audio for "Lights" online last night (12 August), the band seemed to have drawn inspiration from Prince as the song is hella groovy.

Full of 80s funky bass and popping electronics the song is a softer side to the band, as singer Theo breathily sings atop the track. We're particularly taken with the harmonies, which are gloriously hazy. There's a end-of-summer vibe to the song that's both sexy and alluring, drawing you in.

Basically, this is a bop and we highly recommend that you give it your immediate attention.

Listen to "Lights" below and tell us what you think, yo!
