Facebook Has A New "Snooze" Feature And You're Gonna Be Using It A LOT

It's nothing like the snooze button on your alarm clock but you'll be using it just as much.
By now, we're sure you're used to the usual antics of people on your Facebook feed.
There are the people who are always ranting and raving about politics, the folks who insist on sharing problematic opinions, and of course, the proud mothers who upload a new album of baby pictures every. single. day.
Unfortunately, you can also think of 101 reasons why you can't simply unfriend or unfollow these people.
Facebook feels your pain and their new feature is perfect for anyone with a feed full of people who need to take it down a notch.
Facebook has announced a new feature called "Snooze" that will hide a friend's posts for 30 days if they're constantly putting repetitive or annoying stuff in your News Feed.
"With Snooze, you don’t have to unfollow or unfriend permanently, rather just stop seeing someone’s posts for a short period of time," writes Facebook.
This is especially useful if you have a friend who tends to go through annoying phases on Facebook.
Facebook's Snooze feature will even alert you when the 30 day period is about to end so you can adjust it accordingly.
Facebook have long since offered tools to help users tailor their News Feed. For instance, the existing "hide post" and "unfollow" features are also ways to see less clutter on your feed without unfriending folks.
That being said, "Snooze" appears to be first instance of Facebook introducing a feature that lets you mute people for a set amount of time.
Yep, that university acquaintance who just went through a rough break-up and can't stop posting sad lyrics is getting the Snooze treatment ASAP.
