Instagram Is Testing The One Feature You've Wanted For Years

It's currently being tested by a small number of users but it would be a game changer.
If there is one feature that Instagram users have wanted for a while (besides a chronological feed) it's the one that would allow users to 'regram' each other's posts.
There are plenty of third party apps that allow users to repost things onto their profiles. However, Instagram is reportedly working on something that would be the closest thing to a 'regram' feature from the app thus far.
According to Tech Crunch, some users have been given access to a feature that allows them to add someone's post into their Insta story.
The feature is currently in the testing phase, but here is how it apparently works.
The feature seemingly works a bit like quote tweeting. You can select a post on Instagram and add it to your Instagram story instead of manually screenshotting and posting the image.
From there, you can comment, add creative embellishments, and even direct back to the original post with a "see post" button.
According to Tech Crunch, users can stop people from being able to "quote story" their posts. All you have to do is turn it off in the settings section.
Instagram is aggressively trying to out-iterate Snapchat on Stories. I think this Regram-style feature will be a big hit for trash talking & cross-promotion https://t.co/PWPfMXKY9R pic.twitter.com/7FjR80XWXj— Josh Constine (@JoshConstine) March 19, 2018
A new feature like this will undoubtedly drive tons of engagement and keep users in the app longer. Needless to say, there's a decent chance we could be seeing this feature used into some high profile celebrity shade throwing.
The feature is currently in testing with a small number of Instagram users, so there is no way to know if and when it will be rolled out to everyone.
