People Are Using This App To Give Their Friends Texting Anxiety And It’s Wild

If you hate that messenger bubble, you may want to look away now...
Great news if you like to keep people hanging onto your every word - a brand new app has arrived that'll keep all your friends waiting for your reply for as long as you want them to.

Godotify runs in the background of your computer so whenever someone messages you on Facebook Messenger, the app makes it look as though you're typing indefinitely.
Basically, you can keep your mates, enemies or secret crushes staring at that bubble forever if you want it to.

And it gets even better...
The app also tracks how long your friends have been waiting for you to type! Now that's just plain mean.
Oh, and that name? It's a reference to the Samuel Beckett play, Waiting for Godot, where the two main characters spend the whole time waiting for someone named Godot who never turns up. Clever.
Mashable reports that the app was created by developers Iain Nash and Anastasis Germanidis in just three hours at the "Stupid Shit No One Needs and Terrible Ideas Hackathon," or Stupid Hackathon, "a one-day event where participants conceptualize and create projects that have no value whatsoever".
