Stephenie Meyer Just Beyoncéd A New Twilight Book, Twitter Freaked Out

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined is a thing and no one was ready.
We didn't think we'd be typing this today: there is a new Twilight book and it's available...now.
Stephenie Meyers has written a 442 page re-imagining of the Twilight series, only this time she's switched the genders of Bella and Edward. What a time to be alive.
The author said she decided to switch the genders of the main characters to rebuff critics who thought of Bella as a "damsel in distress", insisting she is a "human in distress". She also wanted to debunk that myth that Bella was "too consumed with her love interest, as if that's somehow just a girl thing".
It's an interesting idea. Though it leaves Meyer open to some obvious criticism. And we all know where to go if we want to criticise people...hello, Twitter!
Let's have a look at how the news went down:
Some people seemed to have missed the point completely.
We're in full support of this.
The Twihards are still out here, in case you were wondering.
Someone convince me to NOT skip work and go to B&N and buy the Twilight Reimagined. I need someone to hold me back.— emma carstairs. (@emmmabooks) October 6, 2015
There was a lot of this.
We know that feeling.

Some people couldn't get enough of it.
Don't miss your stop bbz!
It's kinda sweet to see people still excited about Twilight. We're sure they'll love the new book. It's a fan dream come true, having an author/artist reimagine your favourite things in the whole world so you can enjoy again from a new perspective. Well done, Ms. Meyers.
