You've probably seen the WCW hashtag on Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok.

The meaning of WCW is simple. It's: Woman Crush Wednesday.

Every now and then a new abbreviation goes viral on social media and you have to find out what it means. Some of them are simple (OMFG - oh my fucking God), others are a little bit harder to decipher (FOMO - fear of missing out) and a few of them take on a whole life of their own (YOLO - you only live once). Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and TikTok are always filled with hashtags and WCW is one of the most popular ones.

What is Woman Crush Wednesday though? Well it's exactly what it says it is. Every Wednesday people all around the world take to their favourite social media apps to pay tribute to their favourite women. Sometimes people want to praise women they think are really hot but more often that not women use it to praise and uplift each other. Celebrities including Miley Cryus and Viola Davis all use it.

You can also use MCM on Mondays (Man Crush Monday) if you want to show the boys some appreciation.
