What was 2015's Most Popular Meme?

Dank memes 4 dayz.
We all love a good countdown, don't we. But as every posts their end of years lists, we couldn't help but feel that one category was severely overlooked...memes.
Thankfully, our friends at Tumblr have released a MAMOTH end of year breakdown that includes the most buzzed about actors, TV shows, solo artists, bands and, thank GOODNESS, memes!
Included on the list are old favourites like the dreaded dress (blue or white but please be out of sight).
Likewise, our good ol' friend Doge popped his head up. Long live Doge.
A new edition to this year's list is one of our favourite memes to emerge in recent times, and we have pop songstress Katy Perry to thank for it. Yep, you guessed it - Left Shark!
Also landing at an impressive No. 16 is Deez Nuts, which has made quite the impact this year.
But what was the most used meme of 2015? What slayed all the other memes? What was everywhere, despite being so, so, so rare?
Of course it was everyone's favourite frog and the rarest one of all, Pepe!
Of course, 2015 will go down in history as the "Year of Pepe", as our dear frog has found his way into a multitude of various situations.
Here he is in Melanie Martinez's album artwork.
Here he is on the cover of a John Green novel.
And finally, here he is in full GIF glory.
