If you're a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you'll have already clocked several references and easter eggs in Avengers: Endgame to previous MCU movies gone by.

Avengers: Endgame's "I love you 3000" scene might have a hidden meaning about the MCU

There's a huge call back to one very important scene in Age of Ultron, there's several call backs to the first Avengers movie and there's even an emotional call back to Iron Man at the end of the credits. But there's one heartbreaking reference that you might have missed and once you realise what it means, you're never going to be able to look at a cheeseburger ever again without tearing up.

You know the one we're talking about. The call back takes place during the saddest scene in the whole movie involving Happy Hogan and... a new character and now, devastating cheeseburger memes are now doing the rounds on Twitter.

[WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Avengers: Endgame... you've been warned!]

At the end of the film, we see all the Avengers gathering by a lake to pay their respects to Tony Stark. The scene then cuts to Happy Hogan sitting on a bench with Tony and Pepper's young daughter Morgan.

Happy asks her if she's doing ok. He then asks her if she's hungry. She says yes and then he asks her what she wants. Her reply? Cheeseburgers. Happy then goes on to tell her that her dad liked cheeseburgers and that he would get her all the cheeseburgers she wants.

The whole scene is a throwback to the very first MCU film, Iron Man. For those that missed the reference, allow me to spell it out for you through my tears.

Following his escape from captivity in Iron Man, the first thing Tony asks Pepper and Happy for is a cheeseburger. He then eats the cheeseburger during his press conference.

Tony's love of cheeseburgers was passed down to his daughter and it honestly couldn't be more perfect. I will never look at another cheeseburger the same way again.

If you need me, I will be crying into my cheeseburger. Thanks!
