The #CondomChallenge: Have Viral Challenges Finally Gone Too Far?

If someone told you to drop a condom full of water of water on your head, would you do it?

We’ve all been guilty of attempting a few of those viral challenges in our time, haven't we? Some for a good cause and others to just to get a laugh off the lads on Facebook - obviously. 

The latest viral challenge that seems to be making the rounds is the #CondomChallenge and it is the WORST VIRAL CHALLENGE OF OUR TIME. What is it we hear you cry? Well, it's essentially a condom filled with water that gets dropped on the Challengee’s head for absolutely no real purpose at all. 

Here are some of the greatest examples of the current social media trend: 

 

 

 

 

Have we now finally reached peak viral video challenge? Yeah, you might be staring into the face of impending suffocation with the #CondomChallenge but if it's gonna score you 11+ likes on Instagram then it's probably totally worth it, right? WRONG. It's not the first time the internet kids have put their lives in danger for a quick laugh either.

First it was the Cinnamon Challenge. Remember that one? The one that nearly claimed GloZell’s life in front of our very eyes. That one was very very stupid.

 

Then there was the Boiling Water Into Freezing Air Challenge that if done incorrectly, meant a trip to the burns unit.

 

And let's not forget Neknominate, a lethal challenge where the Challengees downed an entire pint of WHATEVER LIQUID THEY COULD GET THEIR HANDS ON and all nearly died in the process. 

 

Don't get us wrong, we're all for a great viral challenge but maybe it's time we all stopped putting our lives in danger for a few likes? Maybe? Probably? #BringBackTheIceBucketChallenge2016
