The Pete Buttigieg "high hopes" dance is going viral as the internet reacts to the super earnest moves of campaign staffers and supporters.

In case you missed it, 2020 Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has been walking out to Panic! At The Disco's "High Hopes" at his campaign stops since announcing his run back in April 2019. "High Hopes" is one of Panic's most popular songs to date, and has spent 44 weeks at number one on Billboard's Hot Rock charts.

It's also a song that candidate Buttigieg's campaign staffers have apparently choreographed a 'cringey' dance routine to – a dance which has gone viral as the presidential hopeful surges in recent Iowa polls.

Excited Pete Buttigieg supporters dancing to 'High Hopes' by Panic! At The Disco is certainly an unexpected pop culture cross over.

The internet has, of course, wasted no time in roasting the unbelievably earnest dance moves with parody videos and tweets.

It's entirely possible that we may all be doing the High Hopes dance in the club by the end of the week.

People are even imagining how the "high hopes dance" will fit into a potential Buttigieg administration.

Thoughts and prayers with the staffers.

So far, Panic! At The Disco have not publicly reacted to the Buttigieg "High Hopes" dance craze. However, Brendon Urie's Highest Hopes foundation did raise $134k over the weekend, so there's some good 'High Hopes' adjacent news.
