Kylie Jenner singing "rise and shine" to Stormi has already led to $65 merch and now the Kylie Cosmetics mogul is reportedly trying to trademark the viral phrase.

Ahh yes, trademark filings. The place where internet memes go to die. Earlier this month, the internet had a field day with a video of Kylie Jenner singing "Rise and Shine" to Stormi Webster during an office tour of Kylie Cosmetics. The candid moment spawned plenty of memes and, of course, Kris Jenner and Kylie Jenner kashed in on the viral clip with some overpriced "Rise and Shine" merch.

But, if you thought that the reality star and beauty mogul was going to let this meme go quietly into the night, you've got another thing coming. Kylie has reportedly filed paperwork to trademark "RIIISE AND SHIIINNEE" and the internet is not impressed with the move.

According to TMZ, camp Kylie has filed paperwork for the trademark which would allow them to use the viral phrase on clothing, fashion accessories, and cosmetics.

People are criticising the move on social media with some calling it "a cash grab". Folks are also pointing out that 'rise and shine' is, like, a very common saying.

Some of us may be old enough to remember when Kylie tried to secure the trademark for "KYLIE" but was blocked by Australian singer Kylie Minogue.

Anyway, rise and shine, guys. It's all fun and games when celebs lean into the internet's hilarious memes about them – until they get the United States Patent and Trademark Office involved.

What do you guys think of Kylie trying to trademark "RIIISE AND SHIIINNEE"?
