Pikachu dancing memes are going viral and it's so wholesome

Ryan Reynolds trolled Pokémon Detective Pikachu fans this week with a video of dancing Pikachu and the memes are honestly great.

The highly anticipated Pokémon Detective Pikachu film hits theatres this week and, along with it, comes the truly wholesome Pikachu dancing meme.

As it turns out, Pikachu has some wicked dance moves and the internet can't seem to get enough of everyone's favourite Pokémon detective.

Ryan Reynolds shared the original Pikachu dancing video on Twitter.

Ryan Reynolds, who voices Pikachu in the film, trolled fans this week when he quote tweeted a post that claimed to be a link to the "full" Pokémon Detective Pikachu movie.

In actuality, the link took fans to o a 1 hour and 42 minute long YouTube video of Pikachu dancing in the style of iconic 80s workout videos.

Fans obviously loved the dancing detective Pikachu video. As of Thursday afternoon, the video has been viewed over 11 million times.

Soon, people realised that the video of Pikachu dancing went with pretty much everything.

"September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire? Check.

"Sucker" by The Jonas Brothers? Check.

The Avengers theme song? Check.

Of course dancing Pikachu went with Panic! at the Disco as well.

There was also a startling discovery made about the Pikachu video and an old Key & Peele workout sketch.

Taaaaaaake oooooon meeeee.

To be fair, everything goes with "Africa" by Toto.

It soon became apparent that dancing Pikachu goes with a lot of 80s songs.

And who could forget "Old Town Road"?

People have noted that the dancing Pikachu meme is the perfect marketing move ahead of the film's release and we're inclined to agree.
