Wait... is Rihanna Jamaican?!

Rihanna has always been a proud Bajan woman, hailing from Saint Michael, Barbados. However, now her Jamaican fans want to change her nationality and there's a Twitter battle going on to prove the singer is actually Jamaican.

It comes as no surprise why Jamaicans really want to claim Rihanna as theirs. With Fenty Beauty changing the makeup game, Savage x Fenty doing everything Victoria's Secret wishes it could and Fenty becoming LVMH's first luxury brand owned by a black woman, we'd want Rihanna on our team too.

It all started when a Twitter user decided enough was enough – it was time to steal Rihanna from Barbados. "Jamaicans, you know, if we pretend like Rihanna is Jamaican, the world would believe us and there is nothing the Bajans can do about it. Let’s kidnap Rihanna’s nationality, y’all," the Twitter user tweeted.

Soon, #RihannaIsJamaican started trending on Twitter and hilarious memes trying to prove Rihanna's Jamaican heritage began circulating.

In retaliation, Bajans decided to steal some Jamaican icons.

I hate to say it but Rihanna lives in London now, so technically she's ours…
