In the video for the song, released yesterday (Feb 27), Doja Cat serves '70s realness, gives us multiple lewks and even invites Haley Sharpe, the TikTok user who created the viral dance, to star in the video. Haley can be spotted toward the end where Doja Cat recreates the iconic dance routine on the dancefloor.

Who created the original 'Say So' TikTok dance?

Haley, who goes by the username @yodelinghaley on TikTok, posted the original 'Say So' dance video on the platform in December 2019. In the caption where she shared the second part of the dance, she wrote: "i made a part 2. also dojacat if ur filming a music video for this song and need a dancer, im here [sic]." And, well...the rest is history now.

The TikTok where Haley demonstrates the 'Say So' full routine has 1.1 million likes with 7.5 million views.

The dance soon went viral, with thousands and thousands of users duetting her video and performing the dance, including TikTok star Charli D'Amelio and YouTuber James Charles. (Charli, one of the most popular users on the platform, made sure to tag Haley in her video which has since received 5.2m likes.)

Haley's video also appeared in Emma Chamberlain's YouTube video, which boosted the visibility of the dance. A hilarious remake of Haley's dance by TikTok user @treclements also went viral.

Celebrities soon followed, with legends like Laura Dern going viral after taking over her daughter Jaya's account.

Fans are living for the fact that Doja Cat included Haley in the video, particularly after the situation 14-year-old Jalaiah Harmon found herself in when she went uncredited for creating the insanely viral 'Renegade' dance on TikTok. (Thankfully, Jalaiah is now getting her roses and the recognition she deserves.)

How to do the 'Say So' TikTok dance

There's a few simple steps in the 'Say So' routine if you're just learning the basic dance that fits over the chorus.

The dance has become known for the 'punch and roll' move – thanks to the "no punches left to roll with" lyric.

If you want to learn the full dance, you can find the whole thing on Haley's TikTok below, or right here. There's also several tutorials on YouTube from people who have broken down the moves, but why learn from them when you can just learn it from Haley below.
