What does the snowflake emoji actually mean?
If you've been on social media recently, you've probably noticed all the snowflake emojis flooding your timeline... but what does it mean? Well, it all began with the "how it started vs how it's going" memes. People are sharing how their relationships started, typically with a DM, and then the ending is a loved-up photo. Must be nice...
However, out of the meme, another meme has been born thanks to rappers Saweetie and Quavo throwing their take in the ring. People are now sliding into their potential partner's DMs with snowflake emojis with hilarious results.

What does the snowflake emoji mean?
On Wednesday (Oct 7), Quavo decided to participate in the "how it started vs how it's going" trend showing how their relationship began on 15 March 2018 with a simple DM – a snowflake emoji.
This is in reference to Saweetie's hit track 'ICY GIRL' and because she regularly refers to herself as the Icy Girl. In an interview with VICE, Saweetie defined an Icy Girl as "being a bossed up, independent woman".
Saweetie replied to Quavo's DM that day with a noodle bowl emoji, acknowledging his hit song 'Stir Fry'. Quavo then messaged, "u so icy Ima glacier boy [sic]," to which she replied: "was hannin then [sic]." Basically, Quavo broke the ice with a snowflake and now they're in love.
And now the internet is filled with hilarious snowflake memes thanks to Saweetie and Quavo.
Whilst it worked for Quavo, it's not exactly working for everyone...
