People are doing the #PiercingChallenge on TikTok to decide what piercing to get IRL

The Piercing Challenge is taking over TikTok and... ouch.

We can always rely on TikTok to let us know what's going on when it comes to the latest viral challenge, and sometimes that happens to collide with the beauty world. Case in point, when TikTok users started to literally glue their top lips up to make them look fuller.

Well, now there's a new viral challenge on the block. If you're still struggling to decide what piercing to get, TikTok users have created the Piercing Challenge, allowing a filter to actually choose the piercing they should get.

It works like this, a filter flashes on to the user's face showing a number of different piercings. The piercings can be anything, from the nose to the septum, or – kind of like spinning a roulette wheel. Once it lands on the piercing, the person then heads to a (hopefully) professional piercer where they get the piercing IRL. Simple… and painful.

Now the #PiercingChallenge is spreading like wildfire on TikTok.

There are some loopholes, though. Apparently, some are getting fake or magnetic piercings, handy if you can't commit to actually getting pierced.

Meanwhile, others are reportedly cheating and filming themselves until the filter lands on a piercing that they had already planned to get. Dazed reports that some are even choosing to attempt a piercing at home – yikes.

Well, at least it's not a tattoo challenge…
