Bretman Rock dedicated his Beauty Influencer of 2019 award to his dad who passed away last week.

It's official. Bretman Rock is a PCA winner. He won The Beauty Influencer of 2019 award at the People's Choice Awards.

Nominated in a competitive category of YouTubers, including James Charles and Jeffree Star, Bretman came out on top. The 21-year-old beauty vlogger was also up against Jackie Aina, Nikita Dragun, Nikki de Jaeger (NikkiTutorials), Desi Perkins and Rachel Levin (RCA Beauty). Even though James and Jeffree have had huge beauty launches this year with James Charles x Morphe and Jeffree's Shane Dawson collaboration Conspiracy respectively, Bretman ultimately took home the crown.

I want to dedicate this award to my dad who has always supported and loved me unconditionally. I love you so much and I will always be grateful for allowing me to express myself and defended me whenever haters said anything. This one is for you Papa. I hope I make you the proudest [sic]."

He then added: "I remember I would always watch my grandma put on makeup for church and that’s when I fell Involve with makeup and vanity.. ugh I'm just lost for words. thank you guys [sic]."

Bretman tweeted just last week (5 Nov) that his father was in the hospital. He wrote: "I just found out my dad is in a critical condition and is in a coma now...sorry I’m just kinda taken back and taking time for myself and family!!" He later confirmed (7 Nov) that his dad had passed away.

Following Bretman's win, PCA's Beauty Influencer of 2018 award recipient, James Charles, took to Twitter to congratulate him. He wrote: "It's what she deserves," and we couldn't agree more.

Huge congratulations to Bretman on his win! Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.
