Hope you've saved your receipts, it's callout time.

Here at PopBuzz we've been known to dive into the insane and magical world of shipping every once in a while. You could say we're into it.

But not everyone shares that passion.

Earlier this week, Ian Hecox, aka one half of the ultra successful YouTube comedy duo SMOSH, tweeted the following:

Obviously, Ian isn't speaking against his shippers - although if you're writing 14-chapter stories about the Smosh family orgy, you may want to re-evaluate your life choices. Also, we'd like a link to that, please and thank you.

The trouble here is with the extreme stans, those that will literally go after any potential love interest that threatens their ship.

Plenty of YouTubers have spoken out against this aspect of fan culture, but with so many videos making fun of "fangirls" as a mass entity, the message tends to get lost. We're happy to see calm, sane messages like this coming from top YouTube creators like Smosh.

Do you think there's a problem with shipping or online fan culture in general?
