Jeffree Star posts emotional tribute after tragic death of his dog Daddy

Jeffree Star is mourning the death of his 3-year-old pomeranian, Daddy, who passed away after complications from surgery over the weekend.

Jeffree Star is mourning the death of his dog, Daddy Star, who passed away over the weekend. In an emotional Instagram post shared on Sunday (6 October), Jeffree revealed that his adorable Pomeranian had died after undergoing emergency surgery. The YouTuber said "his body couldn’t handle the surgery plus the complications of his medical condition".

Jeffree first shared news of Daddy's medical emergency on Saturday 5 October. The beauty mogul let his 5.4 million Twitter followers know that Daddy was suffering from an abscess in his liver, revealing that he'd received a tough prognosis from the doctor.

Jeffree Star crying for his Dog Daddy and asking for prayers

Jeffree let fans know that the surgery was risky and that Daddy had a "50% chance of living". Unfortunately, just hours later Jeffree shared the heartbreaking news that his beloved dog had passed away.

"#RIPDaddyStar 💔 With heavy hearts we have to share the devastating news that our dog Daddy passed away early this morning," Jeffree wrote on Instagram. "His body couldn’t handle the surgery plus the complications of his medical condition. I can’t put into words how much we love our pets and how much this hurts.

"Daddy meant the world to us and was such a light in our home. Every day was smiles and he brought so much love into our lives..😌 Nathan and I know that Daddy and Diamond are together watching over us. My heart breaks in a million pieces thinking about not snuggling with him tonight. We love you big man 🐶"

This comes just months after his other dog, a nine-year-old Pomeranian named Diamond, passed away in June. At the time, Jeffree called the loss "devastating" and made a tearful tribute video for the beloved animal.
