Jeffree Star and James Charles will battle it out in the Beauty category at the Streamy Awards

Jeffree Star and James Charles are both up for the same Streamy Award this year.

The Streamy Awards will kick off on 13 December in Los Angeles, California, and the nominations have been officially announced.

The annual ceremony recognises the best video creators in the industry. It's not just limited to YouTube either, the Streamys includes directing, acting, producing and writing too. The winners are mostly determined by votes from an independent panel of judges from the industry. Meanwhile, fans decide the winners in Creator of the Year and Show of the Year categories.

Interestingly, James Charles and Jeffree Star will be battling it out in the Beauty category this year. Both have hugely successful YouTube channels and James actually won in the category in in 2018. But as you know, James and Jeffree's friendship is pretty much dead right now, so things could get a lil' awks.

At one time, Jeffree called James his "little brother" and even distributed James' Sisters merch line from his business, Killer Merch. However, earlier this year, the YouTube drama put an end to their friendship.

Basically, Tati Westbrook shared a 45-minute exposé video on James, accusing him of lying and "manipulating people's sexuality". Later, Jeffree got involved and basically co-signed what Tati had said, before throwing even more allegations at him and sending him threatening text messages. Jeffree later called a truce and apologised in a video, titled "Never Doing This Again".

It won't just be James and Jeffree in the Beauty category though, other nominated YouTubers nominated include Brad Mondo, Jackie Aina and Nikita Dragun.
