Shane Dawson recently emailed fans about a new line of hoodies with Jeffree Star's company Killer Merch.

Shane Dawson is coming under fire after launching a new line of merch amid his silence on his recent public controversies.

In June this year, Shane Dawson faced widespread public backlash after many of his past scandals came to light. Videos of Shane wearing blackface, using racial slurs, mocking disabled people and even joking about paedophilia went viral online. Shane then apologised for some of his actions in a 20-minute-long YouTube video titled 'Taking Accountability'.

However, shortly afterwards, even more of Shane's problematic videos resurfaced. In one of them, Shane sexualised a then 11-year-old Willow Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith and Jaden Smith called him out for it. In the following days, Shane lost a million subscribers on YouTube and Target and Morphe removed his products from their websites and stores.

Since June 30th, Shane has remained silent on social media but he's now being slammed for quietly releasing new merch.

Last week (Sep 17), Shane Dawson sent out an email to people subscribed to his mailing list announcing a brand new line of hoodies made by Jeffree Star's Killer Merch company. The hoodies feature the phrase "spiralling since 1988" on them. Fans were quick to criticise Shane for working on new merch without addressing his controversies.

One person tweeted: "It’s so uncomfortable that Shane Dawson is releasing new merch while he’s been mia??? It’s just weird knowing he hasn’t said anything since June & still comes out with new stuff".

Another added: "i got an email of shane dawson’s new merch... why would he launch new merch when he hasn’t been on any platform addressing everything people have said about him. who’s still supporting this man? why would they launch new merch?"

As it stands, Shane hasn't responded to the backlash. We shall update you if he does.
