Style Icons

By Victoria Pavlova

For when you just DGAF.

In every woman's life, there are days when you're willing to put on three layers of foundation and spend an hour perfecting your winged eyeliner... and some when you're just over it. Both perfectly acceptabl situations.

But sometimes you actually want put together a look and feel polished af and you just don't have the time. Don't worry. This is the internet. We got you covered. Here are five makeup, beauty and style icons to turn to, when you wanna feel polished with a minimal amount of work.

Boxes of Foxes

Aka Emma Blackery. If you watch Emma's main channel, you probably know that she can rock any makeup look, but prefers to go natural. Her attitude to personal style is refreshingly IDGAF, but the woman does rock some strong looks. All her tutorials are less than ten minutes long and she uses mostly drugstore products. No insanely overpriced cosmetics required. Best of all, she uses only cruelty-free cosmetics, so you can feel like you're saving the bunnies every time you watch one of her videos.

Le Happy

These days Lua P. (get it?) get showered in brand deals, thanks to her ultra successful fashion blog. The good thing about it though, is that her style is easy to emulate on a budget. Lua is a pioneer in her field. We blame her for the beloved trend of ombre hair and countless boho/student-y looks we've rocked through the years.

Rachel Whitehurst

Fave. Fave fave fave. Fave. In case you haven't followed Rachel's journey from Day 1, here's the rundown. She started out as a broke-ass, rant-prone college student back in 2010 and has since been conquering the world and advocating for mental health and LGBT acceptance. On her channel you'll find a mix of long and complicated neutral looks (girl can rock a smokey eye like nobody's business) and 5-minute looks for those days when you're completely out of f***s to give.

Hey Fran Hey

Another beauty blogger who makes it a point to keep her tutorials under 10 minutes, Fran has some bomb advice for ladies of colour, who like their hair and skincare as natural as possible, but also don't feel like spending an hour every day doused in cocoa butter. She's kind of cool. 10/10, would recommend.

Sarah Rae Vargas

Sarah is a mother, a plus-size lady and a real inspiration to us all. Her lookbooks are a breath of fresh air for anyone who's spent too long trying to find their size at a clothing store. She's also got some really creative makeup looks to do in a hurry. Role model status.
