Will "A Dance Of Ice And Snow" be Frozen out of the games?

Not known for leaving things to the last minute, Beijing are already in full prep for their 2022 Winter Olympics. Seriously guys, seven years away. Chill (lol pun).

Part of this includes the release of the official 2022 Winter Olympics theme song - Zhao Zhao's "Dance Of Ice And Snow". Finally, we've been waiting to find out what happens to Daenerys.

The official audio is being removed for copyright left, right, and centre across the internet, but you can hear a snippet from it amongst all the earlier theme song bids in this video (around the 52-second mark).

Catchy, right? Got a good wintery feel about it, with some infectious piano full of magic and wonder and...


Yeah, it basically sounds a lot like Frozen's inescapable hit "Let It Go". And people in China are maaaaad.

RocketNews24 picked out some comments from Chinese social media, as people describe the blatant similarity as "embarrassing":

“That’s a perfect rip-off”
“They’re identical.”
“Did you seriously think we wouldn’t notice? Do you think we’re idiots?”
“That’s just embarrassing…”
“We won the chance to host the Olympic Games and then you go and spoil it with a rip-off?”

Yikes. The artists and Olympic Committee have yet to comment.
