James Murphy

By Jacqueline Bowerman

All your niche prayers have been answered.

Have you ever watched a tennis tournament and just thought, "This is excellent tennis and all.. but what would be really great is if an LCD Soundsystem member could remix all this tennis data and then I could listen to it on my Soundcloud account".

Well, Professional Tennis and James Murphy fan, today is your LUCKY DAY, because this exact event has now occurred.

James Murphy and IBM have just released a 12 track album titled Remixes Made With Tennis Data.  The album was made using an algorithm that aggregated up to 400 hours of tennis data, including stuff like weather changes, crowd reactions, serve speed and number of aces. **Shocked face**

And if you're fan of Arcade Fire, at approximately 3 minutes and 22 seconds into "Match 4," (Apparently one of James Murphy's favourite matches) there are some definite similarities to the (James Murphy-produced) "Reflektor". WE KNOW THOSE DRUMS! Hi!

Listen to the album in full now.
