Akua Kezia breaks it down.

Akua Kezia was 14-years-old when she became poorly. She was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and was told that her liver had given up.

As her time progressed in hospital, Akua Kezia was then diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, high blood pressure and anaemia. Her only hope was having an organ transplant.

In this video, made with NHS Blood and Transplant, Akua Kezia tells us about her organ transplant journey and reflects on the importance of signing up to the organ donor register and why it's vitally important that you discuss being a donor with your family.
