This Girl Got Her Period For The First Time And Her Family Celebrated It In The Most Iconic Way

I wish I'd gotten this...
What did your family do for you when you got your first period? My mom let me have the last ice cream in the fridge when I got mine, for example.
Now, the last ice cream is a pretty big deal (thanks again, mom), but it doesn't compare to your family throwing a legit party for your first period. When 12-year-old Brooke experienced the first of many monthly visitors, her mom organized quite the shindig for her.
Brooke's cousin, Autumn, shared the pictures of tampons, pads, and even a "congrats on your period" cake at the festivities.

Honestly, how do I join this family?
Everyone agreed that this was SUCH a nice way to celebrate a milestone.
@autumn1shea Your family sounds great, that kind of support is super important! \m/

@autumn1shea I love this. A lot of people scare away from menstruation and dont give proper information that girls need. Shes got a good team around her

But there were also some realists coming through

Ain't that the truth.
This is so nice, especially considering the fact that there are women TODAY who are removed from their families during their periods and considered unclean. Even in more liberal societies, period stigma is very much a real thing.
New rule: Everyone has to throw a period party for someone who they know just got their period. Spread the love like Autumn and her family.
