Rodriguez hinted that the show will have one last season before it leaves TV forever.

It sounds like we may only have one more season of Jane The Virgin if Jane herself, Gina Rodriguez' latest comments are anything to go by.

Speaking on the Women To Watch panel at Create & Cultivate in Texas, Gina discussed her recent foray into directing (she recently directed a huge season 4 episode) and how important it was for her "as the star of the show — as a woman, as Latina," to come out swinging and truly nail it.

She then went on to explain that it was “the most incredible experience,” and said that she has plans to “do more [directing] next year — in our final season.”

"OUR FINAL SEASON?" Could it be? One last season of Jane The Virgin before she's gone for good?

One side, it's sad that we'll have to say goodbye to one of the most diverse and important shows in terms of subject matter on TV but at the same time, some fans agree that ending the show on a high is the best way to go out - and it means Gina will get to explore different avenues and truly become the international movie star and legend she deserves to be.

The CW has neither confirmed nor denied that another season is even on the cards yet but if co-executive producer Gina Rodriguez says it's going to be the final season, then we're pretty sure she's got some authority on the subject.

Season four is currently airing with the final episode hitting our screens in April. Prepare your goodbyes and savour every moment because this time next year... Jane might be gone... FOREVERRRRRRR.
