It's been called the "most relaxing song" ever.
We're all leading stressful lives. In fact, most people I know are experiencing varying degrees of total burnout at any given time. When that's the case, people often try and find ways to de-stress and calm themselves. We've all read the studies that say music is a massive mood booster, but scienctists now think they've found the ultimate de-stressing song.
Neuroscientists have said listening to "Weightless" reduced stress by 65% and have even advised against playing this while driving because it is so freaking relaxing.
Musician, Marconi Union worked with a sound therapist to compose what is now being called "the most relaxing song ever". Every note is apparently designed to lower the listener's heart rate, something which effects cortisol (stress hormone) levels. Eight minute long "Weightless" is also good for insomnia.
I'm gonna be honest with you, I listened to this song and I don't feel 65% more relaxed. Saying that, I have had 4 cups of coffee this morning so I'll probably be awake for the next 4 months.
There is obviously no cure for anxiety but, if you're going to use music as a stress reliever, we're guessing that this would be the first song you turn to. Three cheers for self-care playlists!
Tell us what you think? Are you relaxed AF? 65% more relaxed? Give us a shout in the comments!
