We're not 100% sure what's going on here, but we do know that it's out of control.

Meghan Trainor and John Legend have just released the video for their duet "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" and it's all sorts of ridiculous.

The song is the fourth single to be lifted from MTrain's debut album Title, while the music video premiered in Times Square last night.

"Like I'm Gonna Lose You" is a doo-wop ballad that's all kinds of cheesy, which is why, we suppose, the video is like something from an 80s Rom-Com.

The video opens with Trainor walking around a room of candles before she moves to the window to sing wistfully to the rain. It looks a bit like a fire hazard to us, and a total breach of health and safety.

Likewise, there's some completely gratuitous scenes of John Legend standing in the pouring rain singing to no one in particular, all intercut with tender moments between couples all trying to stay out of the downpour.

We're sorry - that 90s episode of Friends called and it wants its storyboard back.

At the end of the video, Legend reaches out to Trainor, who climbs out of the window so they can sing together on a stairwell as the sun begins to shine.

We're not sure whether the clip was attempting to look cinematic, but it's cheesy with added cheese and a side of cheese.

Watch Meghan Trainor & John Legend's "I'm Gonna Lose You" below and prepare to cringe.
