Farrah Moan is calling Ariana Grande out for “stealing from queer artists for profit" after suing Forever 21 over a look which she inspired.

RuPaul's Drag Race's Farrah Moan has criticised Ariana Grande for suing Forever 21 over a look which she "stole" from her.

This week (Sep 3), news broke that Ariana Grande had filed a lawsuit against Forever 21 for $10 million. According to the lawsuit, the brand "capitalized on the concurrent success of Ms. Grande’s album thank u, next by publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos misappropriating Ms. Grande’s name, image, likeness, and music in order to create the false perception of her endorsement". It looks like the campaign in question was heavily inspired by Ariana's '7 rings' video.

Taking to Twitter (Sep 4), Farrah tweeted: "Ariana should give me a cut of that 10M since her team literally sent a pic of me to the designer and paid them to copy my look from as4." She then explained: "(Finally met the designer and got told the Tea) I guess stealing from queer artists for profit is fine tho". Farrah also tweeted a gif of Ariana saying: "You like my look? Gee thanks, just stole it".

Farrah then discussed the situation further, writing: "Last thing ima say on this; the main ppl at fault here are her team. If that queen didnt recreate it, they woulda found someone who would. When ur team makes a mistake, it falls on u. Idc what the lawsuit is really about, her legal team is accusing theft of likeness, image, w/e".

Farrah continued: "But the point is her team also stole. U can attack me all day but it’s not gonna change anything. I can admit I was petty with that gif I posted& I’ll apologize for that but at the end of the day they did what they did. Idc about suing anyone, just needed to put this out there".

It's true that the resemblance between the two looks is striking and we have no doubt that, as Farrah claims, Ariana's team were inspired by her. With that in mind, it's understandable that Farrah is unhappy with the lawsuit which Ariana's filed.

As it stands, Ariana is yet to comment on the lawsuit or respond to Farrah's comments. We shall update you if she does.

What do you think? Does Ariana owe Farrah credit?
