An old Ariana Grande tweet to The Janoskians star has resurfaced and it's linked to the 'thank u, next' video...

Ariana Grande really did THAT with 'thank u, next'. Not only has the single received widespread critical acclaim (people can't get enough of its emotionally mature lyrics about heartbreak and self-love) it's also broken records. It's the fastest single to ever reach 100 million streams on Spotify and now its visual has become the most viewed video on YouTube in 24 hours ever. It was viewed 50.3 million times in one day.

All the deleted scenes that were cut from Ariana Grande's 'thank u, next' video

One of the things that fans are living for is the fact that Ariana directly references her exes in the single. In the opening verse Ari gives a shout out to Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson. And, instead of slating them, she thanks all of them for what they taught her. However, fans were surprised that she didn't mention her ex Jai Brooks. Although it looks like she did reference him after all.

Does Ariana reference Jai Brooks in 'thank u, next'?

As well as paying tribute to her exes in the song, Ariana gave all of them a special moment in the Mean Girls segment of the visual. Big Sean, Ricky and Pete are all in her 'thank u, next' book (a positive burn book) and Mac features off screen. He is in a photo on her Mean Girls bedside table. And now, eagle-eyed Ariana fans have noticed that Jai may have got his own secret 'thank u, next' moment.

For those of you who don't know, Jai is an Australian YouTuber and he is a member of the popular YouTube comedy group called The Janoskians. He and Ariana began dating each other on and off between 2012 and 2014. And way back in 2013 when Ariana and Jai were still together, Ariana tweeted Jai with a frame from the still iconic Bring It On Cliff and Torrence toothbrush scene.

In other words, it seems like they both loved that scene and it is, of course, recreated in the 'thank u, next' visual.

Check out the tweet in question below.

And here is the scene in the music video.

Our hearts.

Crazy right? It could be mere coincidence but, considering that the video is filled with easter eggs and secret meanings, we think that there is a good chance that Ariana could be paying homage to Jai in this specific clip. In the 'thank u, next' video Ariana acts out the scene with her longterm friend and Victorious co-star Matt Bennett and it's all kinds of adorable.

What do you think? Is the scene a Jai reference and are there are any other secret messages you spotted?
