Lizzo thanks Ariana Grande for Good as Hell remix following backlash from fans

Ariana Grande fans tried to cancel Lizzo after Ariana wasn't credited on Lizzo's 'Good As Hell' on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Lizzo has taken to Twitter to thank Ariana Grande for the 'Good As Hell' remix and thank Ariana's fans for all of their support.

Last week (4 Nov), Lizzo found herself in the midst of controversy after Ariana Grande fans got the phrase #LizzoIsOverParty trending on social media. It all started when 'Good As Hell' rose to the top 10 on the Hot 100 in the US following the release of a remix featuring Ariana. Lizzo and Ariana were quick to celebrate the news. However, fans accused Lizzo of "using" Ari because Ariana wasn't credited on the chart and Lizzo didn't publicly thank her for the song's recent boost in success.

Ariana quickly defended Lizzo and told her fans to be happy for her, and now Lizzo has responded to the backlash.

Over the weekend (9 Nov), Lizzo tweeted a link to the lyric video for the 'Good As Hell' remix alongside a note to Arianators. She wrote: "The sweetest, @ArianaGrande and I have a lyric video to the Good As Hell Remix! Thank you Ari and the lovely Arianators for streaming & sharing this moment w/ me. My second top 10 record is a big deal & I owe a huge part of it to y’all". It's worth noting that 'Good As Hell' was already at Number 14 on the Hot 100 before the remix came out.

However, in spite of Lizzo's evident gratitude and well-deserved success, Arianators are still not happy. One fan responded to Lizzo's tweet writing: "Credit her lizzo." Meanwhile, another added: "you said 'and i owe a huge part' when you actually should’ve said 'and i owe EVERYTHING.'" There were also many more tweets from fans demanding that Lizzo get Ari's name credited on the song on the Hot 100.

What Ariana's fans don't understand is that Lizzo getting Ariana's name on the chart is completely out of her control. Billboard would only credit Ariana if the remix of 'Good As Hell' were outperforming the original version of the song and that hasn't happened yet. In other words, coming for Lizzo for how Billboard credits people on a chart is completely ridiculous and unfair.

Ariana previously addressed this herself. In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote: "Baby girl! If our remix outsold or out streamed the OG, my name would be there. But it didn't! It's not like she woke up and told them what to write! That is not how these things work. I'm so happy to have supported or helped in any way! We have so much. Be happy for her. Love."

Also, when 'Good As Hell' went Top 10, Lizzo tweeted: "Good as hell is 3 years old... baby how you feelin?!" in celebration. Ariana then replied: "ayeeeeee ! get it sis !!!!!! love u ! congrats on another smash [sic]!", proving that there was never any bad blood between them and fans shouldn't be angry either.

Essentially, there is no real drama here. Lizzo is thriving, Ariana is thriving and they love and support each other.
