Ariana Grande fans think that she just came out as bisexual in her 'Monopoly' lyrics.

Ariana Grande has rewritten the rules of pop with 'thank u, next'

Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét have teamed up on a surprise new single. The two stars have been collaborators and best friends for years. Victoria has worked with Ariana ever since Yours Truly and co-written many of her most loved hits including 'thank u, next' and '7 rings'. Last Friday, they revealed that they would be dropping a new single called 'Monopoly' together and now fans think that Ariana has come out as bisexual in the lyrics.

The single came out at 17:00 tonight (EST) but, a version of it leaked online earlier and the lyrics seem to suggest that Ariana is queer. In it both Ariana and Victoria sing: "I like women and men", while bigging each other up and celebrating their iconic friendship. Victoria came out to fans in 2018 by tweeting: "I also like girls" and now fans believe that Ariana ha come out via 'Monopoly'.

Listen to 'Monopoly' and watch the video below.

Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét - MONOPOLY

Given the lyrics, it's understandable why fans believe that Ariana may be saying that she is bisexual or queer on the song. In response to the backlash surrounding her headlining Manchester Pride this year, Ariana actually referenced the fact that she has never publicly labelled her sexuality: "i want to celebrate and support this community, regardless of my identity or how people label me".

With that in mind, it seems likely that Ariana may not identify as straight.

Here are just a few of the fan reactions.

Given how honest Ariana is, we doubt that she would sing the "I like women and men" lyric if it doesn't apply to her. Still, it's important not to put any labels on Ariana before she does. She may not identify with the term bisexual. Either way, it's great to hear someone like Victoria be so up front about their sexuality on a song. Plus, if Ariana has actually come out, what an iconic way to do it!

'Monopoly' is an LGBTQ+ bop and we stan.

Victoria Monét & Ariana Grande - 'Monopoly' lyrics

INTRO: ARIANA
Yeah

VERSE 1: VICTORIA
I've been on the road, where you been?
Real protective with my soul, where you been?
Is your GPS even on, where you been?
Matter of fact, I don't even care where you been

CHORUS: VICTORIA
Bad vibes, get off of me
Outta here with the fuckery
Treat my goals like property
Collect them like Monopoly
I probably won't come if there's not a fee
And if they try come stoppin' me
I swerve both ways, dichotomy

POST-CHORUS: VICTORIA
I like women and men (Yeah)
Work so fuckin' much, need a twinny, twin, twin
How you hit the club when you barely got in?
Then we hit the bank, making them investments for the win, oh

VERSE 2: ARIANA
Said, I been on the road, where you been? (Where you been?)
Real protective with my soul, where you been? (Where you been?)
Is your GPS even on, where you been? (Where you been?)
Matter of fact, I don't even care where you been

CHORUS: ARIANA
Bad vibes, get off of me
Outta here with the fuckery
Treat my goals like property
Collect them like Monopoly
I probably won't come if there's not a fee
And if they try come stoppin' me
I show them my discography (Yeah, yeah)

POST-CHORUS: ARIANA
I like women and men (Yeah)
Work so fuckin' much, need a twinny, twin, twin (Yeah)
You'd be straight for life if I gave you my PIN (Yeah)
Even though we gave up that 90% for the win, go
