It seems like Ariana had no time for Pete's recent SNL antics...

It's hard to imagine 2018 without Ariana Grande. Since she returned to music in April, the 'Break Free' singer has dominated headlines thanks to her incredible fourth album Sweetener. From 'No Tears Left to Cry' to 'Breathin'', she's released hit after hit after hit. Not only that but practically the entire world was infatuated with her engagement to Pete Davidson that ended just a few weeks ago.

Ariana began dating Pete in May this year and he proposed to her just three weeks later. Fans were swept away by the sheer romance of it all. However, the two called things off between them this October with TMZ reporting that they split "with both parties acknowledging that it simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off". It appeared that they broke up on good terms.

However, Ariana has now taken to Twitter to throw Pete some expert shade.

Earlier this week, Pete referenced his engagement to Ariana in an SNL promo video. In the promo, he asked the musical guest Maggie Rogers if she wanted to marry him. Maggie said: "No" and Pete replied: "0 for 3" as an aside. Although Pete did not mention Ariana by name, it was pretty clear that he was making fun of their engagement. Unsurprisingly, Arianators weren't amused by his antics.

And it wasn't just them. Ariana wasn't happy with it either. In a now deleted tweet, the 'R.E.M' popstar wrote: "for somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh". Okay. We're going to need some time to recover from that burn. That's not all though. Ariana then confirmed that the tweet was about Pete's SNL video by reposting a fan's response to it.

This is not the first time that Pete's been called out for how he's talked about Ariana in public. He previously got backlash for opening up about how he used to have sex dreams about her and he also made an offensive birth control joke about Ariana on SNL just a few weeks ago.

Fingers crossed Ariana's tweets will put a stop to his inappropriate remarks.
