Dating rule number one – never, ever get your boyfriend's name tattooed. EVER.

If you're still not over the Ariana Grande & Pete Davidson split, grab your tissues because this is the final nail in the coffin for the ex-couple *weeps*.

Now we know they lived for a heartfelt tattoo, you know, just incase they forgot they were actually an item. But Ariana has decided to rid herself of any memories of her former fiancé.

Ariana Grande and the stand-up comedian split in October after just a few months of dating and a whirlwind engagement. This came shortly after the heartbreaking death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

Ariana gave her fans a glimpse of her latest cover up on her Instagram story while enjoying some drinks with her pals. The Sweetener singer showed off her hand as she toasted with friends and it looked like her tattoo of the word "reborn" had been replaced by a little leaf (or is it actually a feather?).

The inking was thought to be a tribute to Kid Cudi – an artist Pete credits to having saved him during a particularly dark time – who released a track called Reborn earlier this year. Pete also had the same writing tattooed too.

It's not the only tattoo missing from the collection though, as Ariana rocked a bandage on her finger during her NBC performance for A Very Wicked Halloween, where she had "Pete" etched onto her ring finger.

Pete's been busy "covering a bunch of tattoos" himself, he confirmed on Saturday Night Live. Within five minutes of getting with Ariana he had the iconic Dangerous Woman bunny ears tattooed behind his ear. At least he's dedicated to the bops. Pete also had AG on his thumb, Grande on his ribcage and a matching heart on his finger. Whew, if this isn't proof to pick your tattoos wisely, we don't know what is...
